GOLDEN DRAGON AWARD 2010

Last Updated: 30/08/2010

The dragon is the symbol of the Vietnamese people. Over thousands of years a golden dragon has come to represent nobility, vitality and the highest degree of success. The Organising Board therefore chose the dragon as the symbol of the awards held by Vietnam Economic Times (VET) in collaboration with the Foreign Investment Agency and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to celebrate successful foreign invested enterprises (FIEs) in Vietnam.

Held since 2001, the Golden Dragon Award has become known among the community of foreign investors in Vietnam, supported and acknowledged as a prestigious prize by the country’s leadership, FIEs and readers of VET. The award has been sponsored by MPI, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam Economics Association. The Honorary Presidents of the award are Ms Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Mr Vu Khoan, former Deputy Prime Minister.
This year, the 10th Golden Dragon Award is presented in tandem with celebrations of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi. Therefore, the award will be held on a larger scale with a range of special events. Along with the 100 best FIEs in 2010 receiving recognition, other successful enterprises and CEOs continuously receiving an award in the past will be acknowledged with a special award. The Golden Dragon Award 2010 will be held on January 22, 2011, at the Hanoi Opera House and be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV).
The Organising Board respectfully invites enterprises as well as VET readers to visit www.gda.com.vn  for further information.
All FIEs operating in Vietnam are allowed to register for a Golden Dragon Award. The deadline for registration is September 30, 2010. Participants can register directly at www.gda.com.vn. VET readers are also invited to vote for enterprises.
Ten lucky readers will be given gifts from the Organising Board every week. The deadline for voting is October 30, 2010.
